Remember the days when you used to go out to dinner and not a single person at the table thought to take a picture of what they were eating? Anyone else remember before the word "selfie" even existed? Now there's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Pinterest and likely even more that we haven't figured out yet.

Social media can be a great way to connect, an easy way to procrastinate what you should be doing and also a negative experience—all depending on how it goes. There is a lot of pressure for writers to be active on social media, and it's a great way to connect with readers.
